Alien: Isolation is the second recent entry in the sci-fi series to skip the Wii U, following the Nintendo version of Aliens: Colonial Marines, which was canceled last year after poor reception for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC versions.It is possible that the Wii U’s install base is to blame. Nintendo has sold just 3.91 million units as of September 30, which pales in comparison to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3’s 80 million units sold.

The game, which indeed casts players as Ellen Ripley’s daughter Amanda, will be coming to the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC in late 2014.Sega also confirmed more details about the game’s plot. Amanda Ripley is in her mid-twenties and working for Weyland-Yutani, and arrives on remote station Sevastopol in an attempt to recover the flight recorder of the Nostromo.
