Two designers are better than one!
Dean and Dan Caten are identical twin brothers, fashion designers, founders and owners of DSQUARED2, one of the hottest labels in Hollywood.
Born in Toronto, the two moved to New York to study fashion at Parsons The New School for Design, but stayed for only one semester before returning. Finding a financial backer in 1986, they launched their first signature womenswear collection, DEanDAN. By 1988 they had signed on to label Ports International (currently Ports 1961) as creative directors, to bring the company more fashion forward and upscale. In 1991, the brothers moved to Milan, Italy where they worked as designers for the house of Gianni Versace, and denim brand Diesel, the latter of which funded and launched their namesake brand.
Designing both men’s and womenswear, the brothers are known for their electorate runways shows, impeccably cool aesthetic and other course, their famous clientele.
Most recently at Fox’s Cause For Paws: An All-Star Dog Spectacular event held at Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica Airport on Nov. 22, “Dancing With The Stars” judge Julianne Hough cuddled with some furry friends while wearing a bronzed colored Dsquared2 shift dress featuring an embellished neckline.
